About Called to Comfort

Called to Comfort Christian Ministry & Chaplaincy is a Christ-centered ministry dedicated to bringing compassionate presence, encouragement, prayer, and spiritual support to individuals and families during some of life’s most difficult seasons.

We believe ministry often begins simply by being present.

There are times when people may feel lonely, forgotten, discouraged, afraid, grieving, or uncertain about what lies ahead. Our calling is to meet people in those moments with compassion—to listen without judgment, encourage with kindness, pray when welcomed, and remind them that they are not alone.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide compassionate Christian ministry and chaplaincy support to individuals and families in our community, including those in hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, rehabilitation settings, and their own homes.

  • A caring and compassionate presence
  • A listening ear during difficult circumstances
  • Prayer and spiritual encouragement
  • Scripture when appropriate and welcomed
  • Support for individuals experiencing illness, grief, loneliness, or major life transitions
  • Encouragement for family members and caregivers
  • Connection with churches, clergy, counselors, or other community resources when additional support is needed

Our Approach

Called to Comfort is founded upon the example of Jesus Christ, who demonstrated compassion toward the sick, the grieving, the lonely, and those who felt forgotten.

We believe chaplaincy is not about forcing a conversation or imposing beliefs. It is about entering another person’s circumstances with humility, respect, compassion, and a willingness to listen.

We respect each person’s dignity, background, beliefs, and wishes. Christian prayer and Scripture are offered when welcomed, and every person we visit is treated with kindness and respect.

Sometimes the greatest ministry we can provide is simply sitting beside someone and listening.

Why “Called to Comfort”?

Our name reflects both our calling and our purpose.

Scripture reminds us that God comforts us in our own troubles so that we may comfort others in theirs. That principle is at the heart of this ministry.

“Blessed be God… the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble.”
— 2 Corinthians 1:3–4

We believe comfort can take many forms: a conversation, a prayer, a Scripture, a quiet presence, a hospital visit, a hand held during grief, or simply reminding someone that another person cares.

Our Commitment

At Called to Comfort Christian Ministry & Chaplaincy, our desire is simple:

To be present.
To listen.
To encourage.
To pray.
To serve.

And above all, to demonstrate the love and compassion of Christ to those who need it most.
